Ricardo Lagos Escobar was born on
March 2, 1938 in Santiago of Chile, one of the main figures of the Chileans
politics since the early 1980. He studied his primary at the Liceo Manuel de
Salas and secondary at the National Institute. In 1955 he joined the school of
law of the university of Chile, where he began his first steps in politics, to
be elected president of the student center at age 18.
Ricardo Lagos was a founding member of the Party for Democracy and also president of the Republic of Chile between 2000 -2006. Also served as Minister of Education and Public Works during the government of Patricio Aylwin and Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle.
Is important because was professor and also Director of the school of political sciencia and administration, currently school of Government and public management
One of the things I like about him is that he plays a fundamental role in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in our country, and he was able the move forward despite all the difficulties he had to deal since childhood.

Regardless of my opinion about him, I think is important to know about Ricardo Lagos, because he is part of the history of our Institute and more importantly, of our country
